Focus on customized system solutions for pressure maintenance
Dortmund, Kalundborg (Denmark), Bremen – three locations, one goal: We deliver sophisticated solutions for complex pressure maintenance requirements. The focus here is on the DEW21 project in Dortmund, where the conversion of an old coal-fired power plant into a modern gas-fired power plant required the utmost precision.
DEW21, Dortmund: Precision work down to the millimeter
During the dismantling of the old coal-fired power plant and the construction of the new gas-fired heat generator for DEW21, the focus was on reliable pressure maintenance and grid security – under difficult construction conditions. The installation of the system had to be carried out on bolts that were already set in concrete with a tolerance of only ±2 mm. Thanks to precise measurements taken on site and a compact design with a vertical overflow section, the system could be optimally integrated into the existing infrastructure.
The following were used, among other things:
2 × 27 m³ vessels
6 × secondary vessels
1 × control vessel
GH module with pumps and control cabinet
A prime example of integrative technology in existing buildings – implemented through close teamwork between engineering and installation.
Kalundborg (Denmark): Pressure maintenance for an XXL district cooling network
At the end of January 2025, we delivered two 27 m³ pressure maintenance tanks to a customer in Kalundborg, Denmark. The system plays a central role in maintaining constant pressure in a district cooling system with a volume of over 12,000 m³.
Shortly afterwards, the large-scale hydraulic module with pumps and valves followed. The project was successfully implemented thanks to close cooperation with our Reflex Sales Manager, the Special Solution Sales Team, Armatec A/S, and consulting engineers.
A strong project – with a strong partnership and technology at the highest level.
Bremen: Special solution for district heating
The Reflex Special Solution Sales team supplied a customized pressure maintenance system for the continuously expanding district heating network in Bremen, which supplies households and businesses with waste heat from power plants in an environmentally friendly, safe, and space-saving manner.
At the customer's request, a technically sophisticated special solution was developed with external installation, FEM and wind load calculations, and precise mounting on a concrete cover with a steel structure.
Several specially configured 27 m³ Variomat Giga tanks and a Servitec vacuum spray pipe degassing system were delivered.
Conclusion: Powerful technology for powerful networks
These three projects impressively demonstrate how we meet even challenging customer requirements through technical expertise, partnership-based cooperation, and customized planning. Whether in the Ruhr region, Scandinavia, or northern Germany, Reflex stands for innovative system solutions in heating and cooling technology.
